Micki Russell Graham 6/9/01-8/9/11
My boyfriend drove to your kennel from Rockhill in 2001 purchased a Yorkie and came to my home with an engagement ring around his neck. We named him Micki after Micki Mantle.
Micki quickly became the light of our lives, and he was our 2nd child. We didn’t think of him as a pet or a dog, he was one of our children. Our son Tim taught him tricks. Micki would play dead, sit pretty, dance, give 5, wave bye, talk and pray. He traveled to more places than most people have ever been. He played in the snow in Conn, Walked at the Golden Gate Bridge in Calif, Chased seagulls on Florida Beaches, Myrtle Beach, Wilmington and loved Gatlinburg TN. He flew on private airplanes with his daddy, and would help drive the truck on road trips. He spent Christmas in Texas and every 6 months we visited his daddy while he was in school in Savannah, GA. The last trip he made was to Philly and Delaware. He was a beautiful little boy and very smart. He weighed about 12 lbs and was a perfect traveler on the airlines. On Aug 2, 2011 he didn’t want to play hide and seek or tug of war with his daddy so the next day David took him to his physician and they ran tests gave him fluids and said he had a high fever. The next morning they sent to a specialist in Charlotte, NC and they found large masses of cancer on his spleen and liver that was in-operable. They sent us home with pain meds and steroids to give us a little bit of time with him. So many people came to see him. He touched so many lives with his unique personality. He stole a portion of our hearts that can’t ever be shared with anyone. By Aug 8th he couldn’t stand or hold anything down. Fluids were coming from everywhere and he hadn’t eaten in 2 days so we had to let him go. We wanted to have him forever, but we had to let go. Dr Ferguson came to our home and helped Micki go be with our God in Heaven. It was the most painful day of our lives. Our lives will never be the same without him.
